ISKANDAR PUTERI, December 14, 2019: Kiwanis Club of Taman Sentosa raised more than RM100,000 from its Run for (Children Awareness Responsible Environment) C.A.R.E. held at CI Medini here today.
More than 500 people turned up for the run which had started at 8.15am instead of 7.30am, due to a downpour.
Besides the run, many of the participants also made a beeline to have a picture taken with Singaporean actor Thomas Ong, who is one of the ambassadors of Run for C.A.R.E.
The winners in the 5km category were Mohamad Amirul Arif, 19, who won a cash prize of RM888, followed by Kenneth Ngetilch, 35, (1st runner up) and Yazid Harith, 20 (2nd runner up) who won RM555 and RM333 respectively.
The event took place, in spite of the rain, thanks to the effort and dedication of Kiwanis Club of Taman Sentosa, CI Medini Sdn Bhd, Master Paw Feng Shui Consultancy, Premier Plus Property Sdn Bhd, among others.
Present were CI Medini managing director Takeshi Matsukata, Premier Plus executive director Datuk Seri Jacky Ker Cherk Yee, Kiwanis Club of Taman Sentosa president Ivy Tan, past president Daniel Tan and event organising chairman John Tok.
The amount raised will be channelled to the Kiwanis Careheart Centre in Persisiran Sutera Danga 1, Taman Sutera Utama, Johor Baru, with 30 per cent allocated for the purchase of Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus (MNT) vaccines from UNICEF. Kiwanis Careheart Centre is dedicated to helping intellectually-challenged children to acquire skills such as packaging products and sewing floor mats.
CI Medini, affiliated with the Japanese real estate Creed Group, is a mixed integrated development in Iskandar Malaysia made up of a total of 82 acres comprising 16 land parcels. The commercial units here are pegged at about RM600 psf, says Ker.
“The competitive pricing of its commercial units was to attract more buyers,” he says, adding that there are 12 more land parcels to be built.
