Malaysian Health Ministry has called on the public to be on the alert as the influenza this time is serious.

Prevention method is to keep your throat moist, do not let your throat dry up. Do not hold your thirst because once your membrane in your throat is dry, the virus will invade your body within 10 mins.

Adults have to drink 50-80cc of warm water, children (30-50cc).

If your throat feels dry, drink water. Do not drink huge amount of water at one time as it doesn’t help, instead continue to keep throat moist. Avoid crowded places, wear masks as needed especially in trains or any public transportation.

Avoid fried or spicy food and load yourself up with vitamin C

Watch out if you have high feverand prolonged coughing after fever. Children are vulnerable and it is believed to be contagious.

The symptoms are headache and mainly respiratory related.

Asian countries are stepping up checks at entry points following an outbreak of a mysterious viral pneumonia, which has affected scores of people in Wuhan, China.
